one hour performance in public space
materials: waxed crayons, candles
performed: april 14th 2014, Hovorny, former Post Office, CELLA, Opava CZ
For Hovorny the artists performed a duo-action, utilizing both niches, where each artist occupied one niche. Individually, they execute a repetitive back and forth movement, for approximately one hour, facing each other through the center wall. Through their movement they created horizontal lines on the tiles of the niches with black, wax crayons. The layers of lines became thicker and thicker, and darker and darker as they walked back and forth.
After one hour, they switched niches, and each lit a candle. They then walked back and forth nine times, passing the flames over the black wax lines.
