Representations of representations – framing the subject, framing the object. This Performance is focusing the problematic topic of representation in performace art. Due to its ephemerality, performances are dependend on documentation to be included in the art history.
This documentation is often conducted throughout the performance but finds its final result through photos or videos presented certain time after the live action. In this performance, the process of documentation is included in the performance itself. This allows an experience on different levels of time. Furthermore it plays with the difficulty of exhibiting performance art and includes in a subtile and silent way a postfeminist critique of the early cinema.
